FOR YOUR RESTORATION, RACER AND RIDERWe now make silencers to fit most all vintage dirt bike applications. After extensive design changes to come up with a silencer to fit my own 490 Maico project that was machinist quality, tig welded for strength , and a vintage circlip design for super easy packing changes, we now offer it to other bike owners who are looking for that vintage round look just like the silencers that came on their bikes back in the 70s and 80s.
During the research and development of a silencer for my own personal restoration, I first came up with what I now call the "Standard Tube" which is basically the same exact silencer other than it has three stainless machine screws holding the rear end cap in place instead of a circlip. The standard tube is offered for sale also.
With either end cap you choose, the core comes out with the rear end cap for the easiest packing changes I have seen in a long time...

After trying our silencers on several 490s with aftermarket pipes and stock pipes, we found that, in general, no two pipes or bikes were created equal. Even bikes with the same aftermarket pipes were different..
